Commonly known as chives; a perennial herb. They are great for edging paths and borders (especially in the vegetable garden) and may also be used as a companion plant, deterring pests such as carrot root fly.
A member of the onion family, that is easy to grow. Both the leaves and flowers can be harvested to use in salads or soups and the flowers are particularly attractive to bees.
The allium likes sun or partial shade and is not critical of the soil in which it is planted. As long as it's not too wet. Grows in clumps.
Blooms for a long time and will attract bees, bumblebees and butterflies.
All alliums are deer resistant.
Height 40 cm, spread 30 cm
Flowers in June.
