The freesia is a wonderfully scented plant from the irises family. As a cut flower it evokes nostalgic memories, you could call it a vintage flower, but it is back with a vengeance. The scent is subtle but nice and sweet and therefore a commonly used scent in care products and perfumes. Several flowers grow on a stem, in a 'comb' shape.
Freesia's are moderately hardy, so remove them from the ground before frost to save them for the next year, or cover them well in the event of (threatening) frost. Flowering period is from June to August. Plant them in a spot in full sun, with the point pointing upwards.
